Largest King cobra ever seen in Tamil Nadu [ RED PIX ] A king cobra measuring more than 12 ft was rescued from Nellithurai, near Mettupalayam, on Tuesday by a team led by Forest Range Officer Musthafa. It was later released at Kallar reserve forest. the King Cobra, whose numbers have been decimated in the Western Ghats and parts of Southeast Asia where the magnificent snake once thrived, and now it has been declared a vulnerable species by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). http://youtu.be/SGBxWvWsDwM

8. King cobras grow much longer, they can reach 18 feet in length and live a long life.

10. This is one of the Largest Kingcobra which was rescued by Wildlife & Nature Conservation Trust in co-ordination with Range officer Musthafa (Tamilnadu Forest Department), It was 12.6 feet in length and 8 kg's.
