Making a 6-cylinder Stirling engine

This is mostly a photo sequence of how I built my 6-cylinder engine, but much of it relates to how I build my single-cylinder engines as well. In fact, some of the photos are from making my smaller engines, since it's just repeated six times on the larger one. I'm sure there are many ways of doing it easier and/or cheaper and I'm always open to ideas, so feel free to send me your suggestions. I hope this also inspires some others to try their hand at building a Stirling engine. It's very satisfying to see one's engine running after all the work, and there's certainly a lot of potential to use these engines for small power applications. 1. Let's call it a 3 cylinder, shall we?
  2. there seems to be no way to click on the green notice to 'click here for update' because it is so low in the right corner
  3. I need dimensions or drawings for do some modification in this project. Its so important for my university project. Please help me about this :)
Im waiting for your reply :)
We can work together for this :)
Can you contact me at my e-mail?
    My email is utkukesen@gmail.com
  4. I found that when making the steel wool displacer, that protective screening for rain gutters works quite well. I recently took the old ones off of my house and realized they were essentially a higher grade material than what's used in filters. It is a bit harder to bend than screen mesh though.
  5. hola que excelente stirling!!!! ,,,,amigo una consulta como haces para q te salga bien el cigueñal y debe depende la velocidad del stirling??? gracias !!!
  6. The more I listen to this background music, the more it sounds like the music that accompanied title cards from Danny Phantom. Butch Hartman chose a lot of guitar solos for that show, and something about this reminded me of it.
  7. i am from viet nam .i am very like it
  8. wow...l love it..
  9. where i can get that little bearing
  10. All with no gas? Oh yeah!!!
  11. A V-6 liquid metal cooled sterling engine could do what? If placed in a car train or ship? ; )
  12. Use heat plugs used in diesel engines to heat each piston. Then put the engine in a bike and go test its range? Then get back to me if you want more information! ; )
  13. How does building one large engine compare to building a multi cylinder engine? What are the pros and cons of each if your goal is power production?
  14. Hey, great video! It really gave me some insight into sterling engine mechanics. I'm a fairly new builder/maker or whatever you want to call it, but the biggest problem I run into is where to get the parts for your projects. I've found that going to hardware stores isn't the most efficient way to find what you need and they don't tend to have more "exotic" (if you will) parts. Ordering off the internet isn't always too reliable either due to the fact you can't physically touch or check something's dimensions before buying. Where do you get your parts?
  15. What is the lowest temperature for engine start? Thanks! Amazing engine
  16. Nice build.

May I ask when song was used in the slide show showing the build process? Thank you.
  17. at 0.40 is that rubber to form a seal between the plates I want to do something with my grandson for school any help I'm greatful
  18. great job ! do you know the temperature in the hot part of the engine? end how many power did it gave?
  19. YOU ARE DONE ! ! you should not be paying any electric bills; just hook up a 5 kw generator to that thing and buy a couple hundred candles and you will be set.
No research and development for you. That's about as good as it gets.

Most stirling builders are fighting just to get the darn thing to turn. Yours are about to throw a rod they spin so powerfully.
Are you using Hydrogen or helium as your working fluid?
did you hide some roller bearings in that wood?
What is your secret? Your machines are soooo powerful ! ! !
    What's up ? ?!?! ?
  20. What was the most rpm you got with this motor?
