Meet the second high-resolution, laser-drawn resin 3D printer from Formlabs

The Form 2 3D printer uses a powerful Blu-ray laser to slice layers of sticky resin into fully built, highly detailed objects.

  1. Hello teacher!
I live in Vietnamese, i need data related to rapid prototyping technology SOUP (solid object ultraviolet laser plotter) if you have documentation related to this method, hope you reply to help me, thanks!
  2. its very very slow
  3. so why ON EARTH would you even consider buying a ultimaker anymore if you can get THIS for the same money??
  4. Hello. where i can buy uv material like a plastic or resin? Ebay, aliexpress? How to search it?
  5. no future for SLA 3d printers (small print area & too much care... cleaning and so on... Not real desktop & portable 3d printer)
it's too expensive for hobby enthusiast...
(just forget print parts for Quadcopters or Toys....material poor quality not strong)
    soooo good luck... SLA users...
  6. So, does this mean that the Kickstart funders are getting compensated for funding this??
  7. Aww ... this is where the prototype M1 3d Printer come from :)
  8. What a printer!!!
  9. Models are to small. Limit my visions
  10. Can this print with silicone? Or does it work with the Discovery attachment to enable it to do so?
  11. Wish I could afford one of these
  12. we bought into the form2 and sad we did.

The wait was long and the form 2 was shipped with unusable software.
Your PC needs a good graphic card or the "Preform" software
interface will not display correctly. We wanted to return the form 2
after a week of delivery. Customer support demanded a 10% restocking
fee on a an item a week old and never used.

Other issues are: WiFi is in beta and will not configure.  No USB
port for thumb drives. The fit on the tray and wiper are to tight.
No power off switch only sleep mode.

I'm so sorry we bought the form 2 and now were stuck with it. That
means we haft to spend more money with formlabs for consumables. FYI
did not know the tray will need replacing after "X" amount of
prints. Please thing long and hard before going down this road.
  13. That's great, but, will it blend?
  14. what software do i need for this
  15. Man, we really are getting ever closer to the Star Trek replicator, aren't we?
  16. Good another commercial... Hey what about the Form 1 which was a crappy machine and a huge failure? Why this is really better? Can we have some true tests and not just raw propaganda...?
  17. I know a guy who had to send back his Form 1 printer 3 or 4 times because it kept on breaking. I will stick to FDM printers for now, I'm very happy with mine, you can always sand down to the layers.
  18. this is why rep rap for 3d printers was made to compete with everyone else in the industry open source.
The only reason why costs will ever come down is if people can do it themselves if not then monopolies form and force prices up. WE ARE the competition that lowers the prices of goods and services. IF you can do it yourself they have to lower the prices to entice you to be lazy and use their service.

DO people get it yet? LEARN skills to do it yourselves and everyone benefits. Stop being a lazy bum like the average ahem....____ insert word.
  19. They really shouldn't call this a "3d printer" it's more a laser sintered resin printer.
  20. I'll wait until Wal-Mart sells them for $30 dlls...
