back in the 80's if jordan went with half ass adidas at the time, i feel like things wouldnt be nearly the same and that decision would effect a whole culture but adidas obviously didnt seem interested in basketball or the west at the time so i doubt that they would give jordan coomplete creative freedom and the keys of franchise and be able branch off as his own company. but who knows if adidas would of been cooperative things might of been able to go well if he was given the same contract as nike, i mean adidas was big with the teens and in urban culture at the time but who would of known im just glad that he went with nike because obviously nike was the better choice

During Kobe's rookie year and few seasons in the NBA, he was marketing Adidas but I have never liked Kobe shoes either.. I guess if MJ chose Adidas or vice versa, it would have been a disaster in the basketball shoe industry. The shoe design would still have been ugly lol
Adidas would be very sucessful if they made a wheelchair with a logo of Derrick Rose.

as an AVID adidas lover I am GLAD Michael didn't sign with them. His shoes are ruining communities nationwide. I enjoy finding 30-50 dollar classic shoes with three stripes on them as opposed to paying 250 for a pair of recycled shoes in different colors every month.
...if Adidas would have gotten Mike the Jordan Brand wouldn't exist. Nike gave the ability to have input (wanted to be partners), Nike actually let him create his OWN shoe. Adidas just wanted him as a player to heighten their sales.
Adidas had no idea how to market their shoes trough a star player, and Converse had some unimpressive shoes despite having Magic and Bird.
Nike on the other hand had a highly desirable product with a cool name "air" and soon became more profitable than its rivals. MJ wasn't yet the best until the mid 90's, but he put Nike on the map.
