Minecraft XP Farm (tutorial)

Here is my Minecraft XP Farm, a fast way to get to 30 xp out of your mob spawner quickly and safely. I used this in my 2nd Minecraft world let's play series to collect xp. This xp farm has the following features: - Loot pusher to push all mob drops to you - Flip a switch to confine mobs to collect loot & xp, or to drop the mobs into a lava pit - a mob crusher with an adjustable time-delay (so you can 'one-hit-kill' them) I'll show you how to build the different features into the xp farm and adjust them to fit your own mob spawner. like the time-delay on the mob crusher. 5. I dont get how this works with enderman. They have have 40 hp so will be at round about 10 after falling the 23 blocks.
   How do you kill them with one hit?

   (it may not be exact and it is before you finish the details at the top)
   
   16 Blocks of choice (i use Quartz)
   8 Sticky Pistons
   27 redstone
   16 repeaters (or however many you want for the timer)
   10 redstone torches
   1 button
   1 lever

I recently made myself a darkroom spawner on a server. it's over 100 blocks above an ocean into the sky. it's 100% dark and have plenty of spawn pads for mobs to spawn on, but for some reason its not spawning. I hope you see this and could help me find a solution on my problem. any answer from other people whould also be lovely. :)
