Mount Nyiragongo is a stratovolcano culminating at 3,470 m absl, located in Goma ( Democratic Repulic of Congo) in the Western branch of the East African Rift. Five months after its last eruption of January 17, 2002, Nyiragongo developed a permanent lava lake characterized by a continuous degassing that provides extraordinary spectacle (especially at night) that surprised even the experts, and remains among the most active volcanoes on earth and. Nyiragongo still one of the most dangerous volcanoes as its threatens the million of inhabitants of Goma City (DR Congo) and those of Goma's twin City of Gisenyi in Rwanda. The short video we present was made on November 28-29, 2013 and shoes the current activity of the world's largest lava lake.
