This is for the confused folks who think this was a military press.
No it was NOT.  Maybe he could have strict pressed 425 (15 pounds more than Bill March strict pressed weighing 235)   You can find March doing 390 pounds in a faultless style on Google images.  You can also find March doing "layback" (Olympic) presses like Reding did here.  But March did do the 390 strict at 228 pounds and 410 in training with no discernible back bend.  Then also, Scott Norton pressed behind the neck 465 at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center.  He was also at least 7 inches taller than Reding and Serge could not have PBN close to 465.  Sometimes the USA DOES have the best strength records.

  17. Oh my god do I feel stupid right now lol.. Guess I'll have to wait for that powerlifter jump.. When did they eliminate the lift from Olympic weightlifting, because as far as I know nowadays it's only the C&J and the Snatch? I know PL doesn't have the press as an event, and I have no idea why I thought that this was a powerlifting meet. Must have been tired as heel, don't even recall commenting on this video haha

  19. I use both this and Doug Hepburn's big lifts to improve my own. They have very different techniques but they still allow me to understand the movement.
  20. First time I've ever seen a powerlifter jump..
