  20. compared to bony fish, a shark has only got cartilage and no bones, sharks can ony swim forward whereas bny fish can swim both forwards and backwards, they have 5 to 7 gills uncovered (not to sure how many a whale shark has sorry) whereas a bony fish will have one covered gill and the eggs are fertillized in the females stomach whereas with a normal bony fish they are fertalized in the water, hope that helps.
