  1. Great video
  2. 888 poker doesn't allow people outside of NJ to play
  3. @Alec Torelli Shouldn't your 'check on turn' logic apply OTR as well? If our opponent has Ax, he's going to bet the river anyway, but if we check, we also give him an opportunity to bluff his missed draws, whereas shoving gets him to fold all of them and only call with Ax. I know you said "it's okay" to check river as well, but isn't it clearly the superior option?
  4. players at 10NL def don't fold turn with any draw OESD+ for less than 50% pot bet regardless of stack sizes.
  5. I play on a finnish site FILLED with fish. I play 6max and open every utg 4x (and this is NL50). So at NL10 i thing that's a fine open size usually the players are terrible and not eaven looking at opening sizes. As long as your consistent with your sizes I think it's fine.
  6. The problem with checking the turn is that at the micros, aggression is far too low, but draws (that likely check behind) are chased far more often. Balancing is far less an issue, and betting has thus overall the higher EV. Pre, the size is fine, as he is UTG, and represents a very tight range. From the BTN, 2.5x makes sense.
  7. Alec I am in the USA in IL, do you have a recommendation for an online poker site. I don't know which one to use because I have read that withdrawals can be a problem. BTW really enjoy your channel. THX
  8. Hi, Alec.
after flop call, I don't know that an unknown would bet 2 streets after checked to with AQ and AJ type hands. Could be, though, as I don't play these games. I think bet bet bet you generally would get more value. That being said, checking turn and river for balance might be good.
  9. river check is horrible. you should block that player from submitting any more hands.
  10. gotta jam that river. Hero won minimum.
  11. this played poorly from bet sizing to checking on the river. the check on the turn is a bad advice since its micro stakes and not small to high stakes he will loss a lot a value without a turn bet.....also, the bet sizing on UTG is perfect
  12. This is a perfect example of why trying to play balanced is useless in the micros! :D
  13. You are "super confused" in the end because you don't play low stakes :P That's a standar nit check back. This is the problem in poker nowadays. Solid players (regs) don't put money in the pot unless they have a monster. In small stakes you will see people folding sets, worst flushes, worst straights if they think that they are against a better hand. I am not sure that the aggresor even thinks he is up against better quads. :0 haha! btw stupid check on the river
  14. Alec i think the check back with an Ace makes some sense, opponent is only winning (given the action) from 66 (and 69 but we don't raise 69 that early typically since it doesn't make a ton of sense), so opponent is only winning from 66- idk if you are always getting value from 66 since the board is double paired so you are really only chopping most of the time- mathematically hero in this situation doesn't have 66 to offend- so you are chopping the pot around 90% of the time given the action-

now having said that- it's mirco stakes- so it is possible he gets value from 66- maybe 69 given how crazy players do play low stakes but i really don't see this happening offend enough to throw in a value bet since you could get stacked by quads because you are almost never folding the ace right?-

i feel like hero should always be jamming river, mixing checks in makes no sense at all since it's clear if opponent has an ace his calling and if he has a lower fullhouse his calling- hero can't value bet river since missed flushes and straights are folding and you miss value betting small-

putting checks on river is relying on opponent to bluff, so opponent would have to assume you are both chasing draws so i don't see the incentive to bluff river on a double paired board given the fact hero raised preflop and reps a lot of aces and maybe even stubborn kings- i feel like if we check here we are treating our opponent like his to dumb to function and even though this is low stakes i think it's a dangerous way to think-

having said that though- i really feel like this was slightly overanalize for the most part- most opponents at these stakes are not perceiving range at this level, it is good to bet with a range but over fancy play like checking rivers in spots like this has no merit at all. because what hands is the villain getting us to fold? that we bet flop, bet turn and sheepishly check river- imo it's a dumb move that obviously looks to strong- no reason for opponent to "get value" with an ace. so alec are you saying opponent would see value in betting out and getting called by a hand that leads twice and sets up a check on the river.... that made no sense.
  15. I agree on check the turn. OMG check back AQ on the river - only losing to 99.
  16. nooo wtf lol
  17. haha hero can bet shove river but choose to overthink and lose tons of value. lol why player in low stake will over think more then high stake game lol.
  18. Buluga Whale sent in the hand?
  19. This particular Villain might even have checked back the turn, had Hero checked there, as Alec suggested. Against this kind of player checking to induce is not the way to go. So the turn bet is fine, but Hero should just have jammed the river. His hand would look like an ace, which filled up, and another ace would have to call for the chopper.

This kind of mistake is pretty brutal for your winrate, because Hero only won 25 BB in a hand, where he should have won 100 BB. If Heros long term winrate is 7,5BB / 100, thats a tousind hands to play to make up for the lost value in this one hand. And thats why its so important to not brutalize your nuttish hands. After all we dont hit them that often.
  20. Alec. Ur mindset is amazing. Very happy to hear your thoughts and opinions
