Rudisha Breaks World Record - Men's 800m Final | London 2012 Olympics

Full highlights as Kenya's David Rudisha wins Gold in the Men's 800m Final and breaks the World Record with a time of 1.40.91 at London's Olympic Stadium. Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men. 1. The first split was 49 seconds... That's crazy. I need to train a lot more. God Bless to everyone.
  2. Fantastic run but does show you how good Seb Coe was, Coe's first WR of 1.43.37 in 1979 would have got him bronze here and his 1981 WR was running in lane 2 for some of the bends and running a lot of meets one after the other with barely a few days apart on much older technology in the tracks design so it wouldn't be too inconceivable that Coe would just edge Rudisha here with a final burst that he was well known for. but put Coe, Rudisha, Kipketer, Juantarena in a race on a modern track. THAT i would pay money to see!
  3. GREAT RUN.
  4. 800m is probably my favorite event because I don't excel in anything 3200m+ or have the power to get a great 100m time but I do great in the middle. I hope to get to a high level of track but I'm white and kenyans exist...
  5. Kenyan athletes are recruited from the army.. Greetings from Kenya.
  6. Hate to be critical, but that was one of the worst announcing calls in sports history. This guy was stumbling through the names of the runners-up, "the teenagers," losing track of Rudisha entirely until the moment he crossed the finish line. The Brits don't know a transcendent sports moment when it's right in front of their eyes. Deplorable.
  7. Kenyans athletees you make us proud by your humbleness and your art. No drama but you show your athletic abilities. Love you Rudisha
