Russia tests world's most powerful bomb

The Russian military says it has successfully tested the world's most powerful non-nuclear bomb. The device is said to be as potent as an atomic explosion, but without radioactive fallout. Until now, the U.S. had the most powerful vacuum bomb, which was tested in 2003.

16. These theoretical calculations of force all depend on getting a 1:10 mixture absolutely spot on. The Americans aren't stupid. There's a reason why they don't trust fuel-air. The mix is never absolutely right, so 1:4 is nearer the real figure. Seven tons of fuel air equals 28 tons of HE in terms of absolute energy, and a non fuel-air device (like the MOAB) has other advantages, including higher peak pressures. On a day with high winds, or lots of atmospheric moisture, how well would fuel-air work?
