Samurai Hayashi's World Record in Speed Cutting on Guinness World Records TV Show

Samurai Ryan Hayashi set a new Guinness World Record in "Extreme Speed Cutting With A Katana" on September 13, 2012. The new World Record was aired on the TV show "Lo Show Dei Record" (The Guinness World Records Show) broadcasted on Canale 5 in Italy. Hayashi accepted the challenge to cut as many cucumbers as he could in one minute. There were special conditions set to make the record attempt more difficult. Each cucumber had to be cut cleanly into 3 pieces (two cuts per cucumber), with the cucumbers held between his assistant's teeth. The Guinness World Records officials set a minimum number of 17 cucumbers (34 cuts). Hayashi cut 22 cucumbers (44 cuts) in one minute, setting a new Guinness World Record.

  4. Pretty cool to watch, but I think its worth pointing out that no samurai would have drawn his katana if there was even a chance that the katana would not "taste blood"
  5. make a samurai a humble, respectfull and cultural and fierce warrior, for 90% of the fight is in the mind, and in the Zashin, as the katana is the extension of the body, and the soul, good hara, good focus, congrats, Hagime L&R
