The news coverage of this was literally my earliest memory at 5 years old. I remember the collapsed bridge and the image of the top of the building in the street that they were pulling people out of (4:56) are clearly etched in my mind, amazing what you can remember at such a young age.

I was there, the earthquake centered in Aptos, NOT San Francisco! My boss lived in Aptos. His home was ripped in two by a 500 year old Oak tree. So sad!
