8. if you want to try something upscale, go for a risotto to replace your quinoa and macaroni. not exactly pasta because it's not flour based, but the grain itself is delicious when made correctly.
   
   just carnarolli rice. toasted with olive oil and butter, minced garlic, onions, and shallots. a splash of white or red wine. and keep adding chicken broth until it's al dente. Once cooked to your favorite consistence, top with salt, pepper, and parmigiano reggiano. a quickish creamy, high carb, vegetarian (not vegan) 30 minute meal.
