It is a great shame that this has (in part) received such negative reaction from those that this communication is trying to enlighten.
Yes, I am a Gen X, and I like other generations will see 'some' but not 'all' of the descriptors of MY Generation. And I see 'some' of the descriptors of 'Millennials'. I also see the frustration of every generation with one thing or another!
My advice would be to try to watch this without the filter of criticism.
I invite you to watch this with a consideration of how this might, just might, help us all think creatively about design of our own life and happiness.
If your life is great, good on you; If not, try SOME of this on for size........if after time it doesn't fit, so be it - THATS LIFE.

How much of what he's saying is actually based on studies? Yeah, he mentions the effects of rewards without merit and addiction but he doesn't site any study as they relate to millenials. Every generation has their bad parenting and the way they dealt with new technology. This just sounds like the latest version of "gosh darn these kids of today". It's agism at it's finest.
