VERY pretty horse but tails that long just seem like a pain. Im sure it gets braided and wrapped, but still. No longer than an inch above the floor for me personally :)

Uh, I'd say you care a whole lot! Much more than I do, as you feel the need to make sweeping assumptions and personal insults. This conversation is obviously useless. Have a nice life.
I simply don't find any beauty whatsoever in that. It looks thin and out of proportion to the horse. Aesthetically, I think it is hideous. I am an artist by trade, and I am the last person to criticize something for being "unique or different". I find beauty in all sorts of things, but why you insist that I can't have the right to find this ugly or stupid is beyond me.
Well, had you ever mentioned before my initial comment that the people who did this were children, I would not have commented on it in the same way. But, since you didn't, I commented as I would on an adult. How is this any different than unnaturally long fingernails? Some people think that is beautiful. Others, stupid.
I don't see that I addressed anything to any children at any point. I would never put a child down for hard work and commitment. That is a good thing. However, I don't have to think that tails dragging the ground is "natural", pretty, worthwhile or otherwise. We're all entitled to our opinion. Hey, there's a guy in India who got into the Guinness Book by growing his fingernails so long that he couldn't use his hands. You could say that took a lot of hard work and commitment. I think it's stupid.
I don't think a tail bag is necessarily stupid. If you need to protect the tail from rubbing, etc., that is one thing. What I personally think looks stupid is a tail so long that it is dragging on the ground. I just don't get that at all.
