Comments

  1. my grandpa and his siblings were born there I want to take a trip there and to see some of my family history and see where he was born and raised and possibly see his old house if still there
  2. I lived in Terlinqua Ranch for 4 years beginning in 2004 and we went to Terlinqua once a week to eat at the gas station/ministore and restorant. We loved it there and made tour to the ghost town and thought it was so cool. The locals there and on the ranch were very friendly and go to know quite a few of them including the guy at the campground. We lived about 2 miles from part time deputy Brent and his wife and we also became friends with them. I miss it very much there but we had to leave because an eye doctor in Odessa caused my husband to be legally blind. So we moved back to Florida. I have told everybody about the ranch and Terlinqua and hope to come visit there again before I die. The guy on those videos definitely didn't know what he talking about. Toby Holland
  3. reminds me of that Freddy fender song, yea that's right man.
  4. Bird in a beehive.. brilliant.. the bird was a 'swallow'. good video.
  5. What a fucking shit hole!! Looks like the armpitt of the fucking planet!! Pete is a badass dude for even showing this imbred shithole!! Maybe the germans will bomb that dump it be an improvement!!!
  6. You're so ignorant it's depressing. This is why we live here. To get back to roots and avoid people like you. VIVA TERLINGUA ✊🏼
  7. there are a lot of little towns in South Carolina that look very similar
  8. Dude, you didn't even spell Terlingua correctly on your little intro....... You know nothing John Snow!
  9. You really should not just spin through a place and judge everything about it. When we first came here, we spent time talking to locals and getting a feel for it. Now we are locals and would not live anywhere else. You can't do anyplace justice in a few minute visit.
  10. Pete is full of misinformation. Almost everything he says on this video is untrue. That leads me to say don't trust any of his reports. Full of hot air absent of knowledge.
  11. I don't advise u or your girlfriend to visit Terlingua again. U r a complete idiot , u don't know the difference between a bee hive and a bird nest! IDIOT
  12. Very cool video
  13. ghost are the only friends I have anyway.
  14. Thats where I need to be. Peace in quiet, and alcohol
  15. You have done a really good job as a commentator...however, your facts are a bunch off. I would recommend that you return again to Terlingua Ghost town. If you take time to do your "homework" and /or speak to some locals, you will find that it really wasn't 100's of thousands of people who died. The souls who are buried in the cemetery are the one's who perished from the effects of mercury. Please spend a couple of days and enjoy the beautiful skies. Wait for the occasional storm to roll in from the Chisos mountains. Go to the Terlingua store and get some paperwork to learn more about the mine shafts. You can take a self-guided tour. Actually READ the headstones in the cemetery. Return for the celebration of Dia De Los Muertos and experience how the locals celebrate this beautiful area. Most of the people who live in the area surrounding the Ghost town live "off the grid"...they catch their own water, use solar panels and live off the land. And they like it that way.
So much more you need to know sir. Oh and for the record, that dog was not a stray. That dog had a collar on with tags and belongs to someone.
  16. I went in that church in the early 80's and there were dirt daubers nests on all of the pews and a little cemetery.
  17. On your way to Moab? Forty years ago Moab looked just like TERLINGUA. Now it is a yuppie destination of antique shops and over priced "eateries". Perhaps though, that is your idea of fun.

You showed absolutely no respect for TERLINGUA by making it a point to mispronounce the name every chance you had. A free walking tour guide was available in the Terlingua Trading Company where you would have gotten accurate information instead of making it up as you went. You also would have learned that TERLINGUA is a restoring ghost town, a work in progress, not a collection of decaying ruins, but a vibrant, exciting, eclectic and dynamic area.

Those that live there take great pride in doing what they are able to do to make it attractive to tourists by restoring the old abandoned buildings. Had you taken the time to meet some of the "locals", you would have found friendly, free-spirits..... or maybe one of the assholes every town has a few of. But talking to either would have given you better perspective of TERLINGUA.

In future travels, I might suggest that you actually talk to some local residents, instead of avoiding them. Take the always available walking tours, study actual area information and have a cold drink at the local gathering spots and just listen. You will always get a better understanding of an area that way and thus, your videos won't make you sound like so much of a douchebag.
  18. Terlingua and Study Butte are great little places. Live nearby, visit them every so often and everyone there's super friendly. The chili festival's really fun in November, so there's that too.
  19. Terlingua is a pretentious and unfriendly little place where wannabe elitists who have failed elsewhere think they're above the rest of society because they bought some land for cheap.
  20. Do you ever get board of your own voice? .... Probably not.
