Are you still using this since first posted ~ 18 months ago. Any thoughts on this vs, say, Ruger G100 or the new Kimber G6S?
You better try Ruger SP101 .375 Magnum. Try for Power and Precision.
if you read Dick Marcincos book on the founding of ST6 they actually carried the Smith model 66 with a 4" barrel back in the early 80s over an auto pistol. He reasoned that the stainless revolver was more reliable and less prone to failure when used in wet environments or submerged in salt water during swims.
Of course he bought another hammer LOL Put it in a vice and bob it yourself
> smooth hammer > clunky rear sight you are still going to hook it on everything
This guy reminds me of Jesus from The Walking Dead. Anyways great info!
I carry a Ruger GP100 all day every day.
Can't help but keep watching this over and over. How much did you spend in all your modifications?
YouTube pulled down the trigger job video you mentioned.
I want the s&w R8
I kick myself for selling mine. I'm always looking for another one.
great. GREAT
video. informative. and Entertaining
A little background. 40 plus years as a LEO. I started with a revolver and carried one for many years. Now I carry a G19. I still feel absolutely safe and well protected with a revolver. I always carry a backup gun, and have since the mid 80's. Same when I carry a revolver. The fastest reload is a gun which is already loaded. You may feel logistically inferior to an modern auto loader, and that is normal, but trust me, after two shootings I know the difference. I never fired more than three rounds to stop the threat in either shooting. In reality, shot placement and much practice is always the bottom line. The rest is a lot of crap. Sometimes, nostalgia gets me and I carry my SW 681 with a SW 442 as a backup.
I'd never trade out my model -T for an efficient modern working vehicle.
S&W 500 Magnum. End of. No pistol stands a chance against it.
I have watched this several times -- a classic!! A couple weeks ago I walked into my LGS and found a 3" 66-2 . All I could think of was this video. Cool. Thanks.
