Double E pussy way to hunt, come up here in Pott CO. Okla and hunt with men in the woods, boy's
I use deer feeders to bowhunt in Texas. I don't apologize for it either as anyone who has hunted in this state realize that it's a lot different than the midwest where "pinch points" and "travel corridors" exist in small woodlots between large agricultural areas. I would love to hunt there sometime, but here in Texas, feeders help put deer in bow range. I would not enjoy shooting an animal like this hunter did - that is, sitting in a small house with a rifle capable of taking deer at 300 yards, but hey, it's legal and he should not be chastised for doing it if that's what winds his clock. It might not be "hunting" to you, but so what? How you hunt may not be appealing to him. As hunters, let's stick together and spend our time fighting anti's, not one another.
Don't hate on the Texas part alot of us hunt fair chase. You can bait private properties but public hunts no baiting.
those type of ppl are the reason why in South n West Texas, the deer lesases when sky high on prices,. cause the spent 5 to 15000 dlls on a hunt, when they already got the deer on videos n pics before deer season, so the can just pay sit down drink beer n kill a hand fed deer, that ain't the way to hunt, n y'all call ur self a Hunters, pls
My friend shot a 21 point double drop time mule deer with a bow
wish mule deer huntin was that easy!
If you guys don't agree with "baiting" deer then thats your problem. Because in texas oklahoma and most midwestern states you can hunt deer over a feeder and minerals. If the law says its legal then why complain about it. its like your trying to make hunting harder on yourselves. Its still hunting, putting all those hours sitting in the stand putting in food plots and checking trail cameras. honestly you people from PA and sates like that need to quit commenting. This deer could of been high fence or free ranging. i have a 10,000 acer ranch in oklahoma and we have shot giants off of it and its low fence free ranging.
I shot a cow off my pops ranch. should have taped it and made a hunting video. Thumbs up man you're an all star hunter!
I don't think that is the biggest deer killed in Texas your wrong
pathetic. shooting a baited deer.
I have a friend who is a ranch owner/manager in south Texas. Runs a hunting outfit much like this one. Grows some of the finest deer in the state. It takes a lot of work, knowledge, cost, and time to grow these bucks. As much as he's my friend and I respect what he does, he can command very high prices ($5,000-$15,000) and there's no shortage of hunters, scratch that, I mean "shooters" willing to pay that. As such, an average working guy like me was driven out of the market by these prices. I was forced to hunt shot out ranches, not at all, poach, or hunt out of state. I grew up in South Tx and hunted this same way (blind and corned roads), though never within a high fence. Once I discovered archery, I never hunted with a rifle again. Pretty much lost all respect for Tx rifle hunters like this. It's really not hunting. I made a friend in Iowa and he and I bowhunted there 9 years together. I shot 3 bucks in that time, none this big antler-wise, but all on free roaming property. Success was a function of being able to read deer sign and setup in the right spot (no bait). Now that was hunting. I hope Texas trophy hunts within high fences never becomes the norm in the midwest. The high-fence ruined my state as far as I'm concerned. Thereafter it became a sport for doctors, lawyers, and corporate bigwigs.ย
Jeff, how much does a buck like that cost?ย My son and I killed some some deer and an axis on the Whitestone Ranch near Kerrville in 09.ย The Axis was $2500, an 8 point cull was $1500 and my son's 174" non typical was $5500.ย I'm would be guessing but probably you spent at least $10-15000 on that one.ย Care to divulge just what it was.ย I don't have a problem with high fence hunting, I have done it myself, but it is the lazy man's way of hunting.ย The way we hunt deer down here in Texas is really giving this state a bad name in the hunting world.ย Most folks that respond on here don't understand the vastness of this great state and can't relate to it.ย Great deer and congratulations.ย Also, for some reason folks that post hunting videos never seem to understand that viewers are very interested in knowing what rifle and caliber were used.ย Regards.
Whats so great about shooting a baited buck?ย Childs play, heck no hunting to It. In Mo. that doesn'tย even happen with a bow, this guy used a rifle and video's it. A hunter?
STUPID SHIET
I thought the golden triangle was in the panhandlers area of Texas.
Nice buck
I could'nt agree more with onewheelup. I live in upstate NY in the Southern Adirondacks; where I paddle in a canoe to do my hunting and the deer are hard to come by. I have managed to kill nice eights, three out of the last four years but I gotta really work for them. Two were over 200 lbs. but I have to find a place I can paddle to in freezing weather, drag em out, load em in a canoe, paddle em out, drag to the truck and load em. We call these guy's fat _ssed hunters where I'm from. Ok Fatso just sit here in the shade for a while and you will experience the reward of a successful white tail hunt when one walks up to the feeder or water trough on our 2,000 acre private ranch.
