The Biggest Music Store in the World-Nakwon Music Arcade

Nakwon Music Arcade in Seoul Korea is huge. The only way to really understand is to watch this amazing uncut clip as I walked around one of the THREE floors filled with music gear.

Comments

  1. I know Thomann, it's big. As a single operation it is the largest. This is bigger though space-wise as it is like a city and spreads out over multiple buildings and floors. Lots of little independent stores. This video shows only a small view.
  2. I must say that Thomann is much much much bigger
  3. So this is like a MALL, were each shop is independently owned... Only it is only music stuff. There are custom hand made guitars for thousands and cheap knockoffs... Brass, re-cone shops, amps, you name it, it is there.

Custom cable shops and parts. I had my whole 64 track studio and road rigs custom cabled with exact lengths and plugs. It looks awesome.
Like with any musical instrument, you have to sit down with it and try several before you buy.
You will know when it's the right one when it speaks to you... No matter what the price...
  4. Where's their sheet music department?
  5. I went there 2 weeks ago
  6. I could be wrong, but I went to a place like this back in Korea around 1996.  Does anyone know if this could be the same place?  It looks about the same although it seems a bit better lit than the place I remember.. :)  I remember one store sold nothing but cables..  of many different lengths.
  7. Has anyone ever seen a harp at this mall? I'm looking for a (lever) harp when I go over!
  8. Be careful when buying guitars here some of what they sell are fake and some seller are not honest..I bought an epiphone les paul guitar only to discover it was fake..the les paul logo is fading...I was furious!!!
  9. Went there in 2012 and seriously the biggest selection of guitars I've ever seen in my whole entire life.

Definitely bigger than anywhere else in North America.
  10. Do they have actual practice rooms where you can rent a piano?
  11. Guitar center is bigger
  12. looks like a crowded pos to be in
  13. It's a shame its in Seoul.
  14. I used to go here once a week when I lived in Seoul, good times . . .
  15. I really need to go here!
  16. I "kinda" take back that last comment, I did a little research and it seems many of the famous guitars are 'b-grade' 'rejects' or even plain 'fake'. I wouldn't risk buying a high end guitar here especially if the price is too good to be true. However, I'll still enjoy shopping for keyboards and synths (I don't see how you can fake those). Just be super careful when buying a guitar here folks. This place has been raided by police many times.
  17. holy dogshit! This is too overwhelming. How the hell do you make a final decision on say, a certain strat, after wlaking around the whole arcade?
  18. also ich finde die üblichen Gitarrenläden oder Musikläden schöner, ich glaube ich hätte da weniger spaß als in den kleinen Läden
  19. They have some good guitars for sure, but when it comes to name brands, they have some PRSs, fender USA, Gretsch, And Cort...
  20. looks a mess
