The Biggest Train Set in the World! The Wunderland...

The Biggest & Coolest Toy Train Set in the World! It's the week before Christmas and in keeping with the holiday spirit today's show involves one of our favorite traditions... toy train sets. When I was a kid, I thought I had the coolest train set on the planet -- or certainly on the block. It went around our Christmas tree with such grace... such pride... and it was pretty quick too because you know it was a short track and it didn't have to go very far around the tree. Thought it was larger than life when I was a kid... it is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, compares to what you are about to see... This is The Wunderland. By 2020, this behemoth of a train set will span over 20,000 meters, have more than 1300 trains, 20,000 wagons, 400,000 figurines, 330,000 trees, 10,000 cars, 1900 signals and over 500,00 wonderful, brilliant lights. Sound like a lot? You're darn tootin it's a lot. In fact, it will cost more than 27 million U-S dollars to construct when it's all said and done, take approximately 300 staff members more than 850,000 work hours to complete, AND it will need 64 computers just to operate it. Talk about tech! So what is it they're building? Well, it's not so much what as it is where. While The Wunderland is located in Hamburg, Germany, their train sets take you to locations all around the world like Austria, America, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Italy, France, England, Germany, and an airport in the middle of the Alps. Yes... A freaking airport! There's also soccer games, fire fighters putting out actual fires, crime's in progress, mishaps, day scenes, night scenes, snow, above ground, underground, boats, cruise ships, concerts, beaches, gyms, speed traps, tractor pulls, a chocolate factory, amusement parks, kids making out, funerals, shark attacks, UFO sightings, time travel, superheroes... and did I mention a freaking airport!!!
