The Largest Ever 3D Printed Wrench!

For more information: http://ow.ly/qFVd2 Stratasys Objet1000 3D printer: http://ow.ly/qFVhe This short workflow shows how the new Stratasys Objet1000 wide-format 3D printer system is able to build the largest ever adjustable wrench - over 1.2 meters in length, to come out from an Stratasys Objet 3D printer. The wrench is so large it has to be removed using a hand-cart system and sliding build-tray that is rolled on and off the 3D printer and into the model washing system. Once the support material is washed off, we are free to pick up and test our finished prototype!

  1. Didn't something like that happen with Spinal Tap and Stonehenge?
  2. Now I can make me from plastic. lol!!! 3 steps. Scan. Print. Wash.
  3. Print time?
  4. I would be producing giant life size Lego blocks with it.
  5. So i guess you can recharge the printing material while printing ?
  6. Stratasys you should make an auto-washer where you can load the file that you used to print and it will calculate how to wash it
  7. Great video. But why not show the mechanism of the wrench turning?
  8. Hey

Could you do Zathura A Space Adventure board game from plastic to metal that would be awesome.
  9. ladies and gentlemen, we have made it to the future...
  10. How long was the print time?
  11. Hi is that possible to 3d print a car bumper in an customized way??
  12. who that can help you? just disiner?

    Como te ayuda eso.
    Solo diseño verdad?
  13. when i think to my self why would you want to make a ginant 3D printed wrench i think. yolo
  14. Impressive, but a few points... 16 micron accuracy on a piece this size is amazing, but unnecessary -- a forged wrench probably isn't that accurate at its actual size. 300 micron would have been fine, I suspect. Also, you should show if the adjusting mechanism really works. I don't doubt it could, but if so, you should demonstrate it here. Finally, would printing it at a 25 - 40% internal density saved printing time and weight?
  15. the model of the printer?
  16. He REALLY likes his wrenches.
  17. So let's say i want to 3D print a computer case and a fan, would a 3D printer do that or it's not possible?
  18. Wrench for chuck norris?
  19. i cant image how much of a pain it would have been to clean this if it was made on a projet, how many gallons of corn oil would you even need?
  20. I am currently studying mechanical engineering in college. I really want to get into 3-D modeling, do I need to be really good at any platform to begin 3-D design? autocad, solid works, etc? Thanks for the reply!
