Yet children here still make and fly kites, in an act of defiance and expression of hope. In preparation for an attempt to break the world record for the number of kites in simultaneous flight, excitement runs high. "It will raise our spirits... It will help us forget the trauma of war", says Musa, a teenager from the village of Seifa. Slogans such as "I have the right to pride, to education, to justice, equality and life" emblazoned on the kites tell of the resilience and determination of the youth of Gaza. Amongst the wreckage, colourful kites meander through the sky, symbolising the high standards these young people set for themselves. As aspiring journalist Abeer explains, "It means that we have a chance, and we have a dream, and nobody can confiscate our dream." This is so beautiful..i really like the kites idea, it holds such a beautiful message :) I'm amazed by these children, they seem very smart, creative and responsible..they can find their own source of entertainment and are understanding of what they're going through. I hope these children will continue to live great lives inshallah
10. Israel is going to call the kite a drone, say "It's encroaching on Israeli air space", and bomb the shit out of them kids... Applaud these kids for their bravery against the Jewish tyrants.
