1. No no no, you should NEVER pop a cyst! That not only can lead to horrible scarring, as they're so deep in the tissue, but you also open a big hold that's welcoming even worse infection. Popping cysts can even break the skin surrounding the cyst, which allows the pus to get into uninfected skin. You should also never "pop" a bot fly larva... because the larva's skin could break and spill its innards into your skin and even deeper. They should always be gently removed by someone who knows what they are doing.
   
   EDIT: I should clarify, I don't mean these things shouldn't be removed... But trying to pop them at home is a terrible idea, and I know many people are tempted to do so.
