Tomasz Majewski (POL) Wins Shot Put Gold - London 2012 Olympics

Poland's Tomasz Majewski wins the gold medal in the men's shot put event in the Olympic Stadium at the London 2012 Olympic Games (4 August). Germany's David Storl won the silver medal in the event with the USA's Reese Hoffa winning bronze. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women's events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men's programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men. 2. It seems like Majewski misunderstood the question about "summing up" his experience at London. He seemed to think that his personal experience in the sport was being questioned.
3. i was really proud watching Majewski score that last one, improving his last result. it might not look like it on the video but i saw him at the Munich airport two years later and this guy is absolutely huge (and i assume the others who performed there are as well), i'm sure that if he liked he could have hijacked the entire plane with his bare hands
