My opinion is that they are not athletes, they are just thugs. They should not be allowed to even exist as a picture never mind to fight and call that nasty action a "sport". A sport has spirit and respect for the opponent not to run after him when he retreats and trying to still punch and kick him. It is something created by brainless thugs designed for brainless thugs to watch. And first of all, there isn't such a thing as "kick boxing". Americans wanted to create history by stealing this form of sparring the Kicking and boxing which already exist in Full contact Karate, Kung Fu and ancient Greece and try to make something which historically is not theirs. It is something we see in the streets by drunk thugs fighting for no reason, in a cheap night club and grotty pubs from guys with the intelligence of a lettuce. Take them back to primary school and educate them. They give a nasty name to all martial arts styles like Judo, Ju Jitsu, Boxing, Karate, etc, etc. Americans just change everything with great history and down grade everything to their zero standards. Bruce Lee created something new from something else but at least Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do had spirit, intelligence and culture. However, it was his great mistake to introduce Kung Fu to the western world. So my opinion is that UFC and MMA are shit without culture, respect and sports spirit just the spirit of thugs.
