  6. As an 82 year old my music ranges from Ivor Novello to present day but 40's - 50-'s and 60's still remain as the best . The artistes were real interpeters of the music for everyone not just teens. Rap is just garbled limericks!
  7. essa propaganda da vivo que não sai enche o saco
  8. It's interesting how all these nostalgia videos never include Pat Boone. According to Dick Clark, Pat Boone out-sold Elvis 3 to 1. Pat Boone had at least a couple of his own shows, and was absolutely huge back in the 50's and early '60's. He single-handedly saved Twentieth Century Fox from bankruptcy by starring in Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959). It was Fox's last ditch effort to remain solvent. Pat Boone drew in the much needed audience to make Fox solvent again. Now he's completely ignored. How times, and loyalties change.

  18. Eclectic if somewhat random romp down memory lane, inc. some footage I for one had never seen, so congrats, Nathaniel. Re. your intro, it's the first time I've seen Miles Davis mentioned in the same breath as all those mainstream crooners. Are you sure that's whom you meant? Also, I think I spotted a couple of examples which were performed many years after the artist charted with the hit version - Theresa Brewer and Perry Como? The 'Jailhouse Rock' movie sequence is a bad selection because it was professionally choreographed. Elvis was such a sensation mainly because he notoriously made up his own choreography spontaneously.
  19. @8:56, what is the name of the artist and song, Thank you for posting
  20. Only one song ("Stranger in Paradise") from Broadway? The musical theater still produced lots of hit songs in the fifties and sixties. Songs from Guys & Dolls, My Fair Lady, The Pajama Game and several other shows were played on jukeboxes all the time.
