Top Deadliest Things On Earth | Komodo Dragon

Top Deadliest Things On Earth | Komodo Dragon What is it? Komodo dragons are the largest living lizards in the world. They are identified by their massive size, flat heads, bowed legs and long, thick tails. The name comes from rumors that a dragon-like creature lived on the Indonesian island of Komodo. Where is it? Komodo dragons live on only five islands in southeastern Indonesia: Indonesia’s four islands within Komodo National Park and the island of Flores. The islands are volcanic in origin, rugged and hilly, and covered with both forest and savanna grassland. Komodo dragons have the smallest home range of any large predator in the world! How it Threatens you? Armed with strong claws, powerful jaws, razor sharp serrated teeth and armoured scales these are formidable beasts. The Komodo will take prey as large as water buffalo, but they don’t use their size and power to do this. . Instead they employ their secret weapon a mouth full of bacteria. The lizard only needs to bite its prey once, after which it can retreat to a safe distance and wait. This can go on for days with the Komodo following the infected, slowly dying animal like the shadow of death itself. How to Survive? While roughly 12 Komodo dragon attacks on humans have been documented from 1979 to 2009, only four were fatal. Successful survivor weaponry included shouting, loud noises, kicking the dragon's face and neck, and strong blows from rocks and clubs. Stabbing your attacker is a bad idea, as dragons can smell blood from miles away. The bleeding dragon will summon every area monitor to the dinner bell.
