I do follow the NFL, NBA and NHL, so I'll give you much more time of day than most Brits will about these issues. I have played American football. Once. It was fun, in a so so sort of way. I have played rugby. Twice. I broke my collarbone. Twice. Don't act like your amazinly knowledgable about teh whole thing. I'm sure I have a severely superiorknowledge of both games than you.
Don't talk in a condescending manner. It makes you come across as a twat. Rugby and football are different sports, but the one thing that they have in common is they have a lot of big, fit men running into each other very fast. American football=hard sport, lots of damage. Rugby football= hard sport, extreme damage.
