  1. I always start with a head unit. If the factory speakers are good, subs are next. Mids and highs are usually last. I prefer to build custom enclosures, but will use boxes to see how things sound.
  2. I always say to start with the radio.
  3. I would say the audio equipment you want installed and alarm.
  4. headunit, subs, amp, build box, then replace factory speakers
  5. what kind of machine are you using for trim the wood
  6. Money cant do nothing with out it
  7. i had a an 03 gmc sierra 1500 extended cab with all 4 doors that opened, i bought a box that was prebuild by a friend of my father and thankfully it fit perfectly, it wasnt pretty so i went over it with fresh carpeting but it fit 2 10 inch subs and had a deep slot in the hump portion so i could fit my amp/amps, i ended up copying the box but flipping it upside down to make it a down fire box, i failed....
  8. the radio
  9. Do you sell blueprints for this?
  10. good
  11. once I got my sub box designed the first thing I bought was the mdf, then the speaker once the build went as planned.
  12. I would pick Tha amps first since you have to check if you have enough room for those in your car/truck them . second base on how much power the amps can deliver, I would get the subs, also base on room.
  13. but isn't the box too small for the sub?
  14. you purchase a sub or amp first
  15. i actually just buy most of my set up at one time But this go around for my 2000 quad cab Dakota I bought Rockford Fosgate 6.3/4 x4 component speakers for my doors then bought 2 Rockford Fosgate 10s 300w with a Rf 2ch punch 1000w
  16. In a subwoofer build I usually measure the area where I want to fit the sub in, try out the design in winisd and see if I have enough volume for a good clean response curve, go back and forth 100 times looking for different drivers - usually mounting depth is the biggest hurdle, followed closely by top mount/excursion space, followed by volume. I end up buying the driver first I guess, unless I know the relative wattage of what I'm working with and then end up buying the amp first. The last project I ended up buying the amp first - as it's a sports car and focus is all on weight, I went small, one of the micro-amps and going to build a single 6.5" box around that 300w amp.
  17. I always pick out the deck first, than interior speakers, than 4channel, than sub amp and finally sub.  This way as I build my system and install the items it just keeps sounding better and better.   Like button SMASHED!!!!!
  18. i always pick a head unit or source first....i think picking the head unit is my biggest headache cause thats what you will be looking at and touching the most
  19. i did this in a nissan tundra 4 vfl 8s american bass came out nice and noisey
  20. Head unit
