US military drops largest non-nuclear bomb in history over Afghanistan

The US military dropped the Massive Ordnance Air Blast Bomb, also known as the “mother of all bombs” or MOAB, in northeastern Afghanistan targeting Islamic State in the area. Weighing more than 21,000 pounds the bomb is the most powerful non-nuclear munition at the United States’ disposal.
