Warming Up a 2 Stroke Dirt Bike

Support us on Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/dirtbikechannel In this video we talk about Warming Up a 2 Stroke Dirt Bike. This really isn't rocket science! If you let your 2 stroke idle to warm up, you end up doing nothing but filling up your power valve and pipe with a ton of goo. Start it up, and then take off keeping the RPMs low and staying off the pipe. Let the motor build up heat slowly and don't put a ton of load on the motor till its warm, but there is no reason to let it sit there and idle lie you would with a 4 stroke dirt bike. The funny thing about this method is it's the same thing both of the manuals to my different vehicles (cars) say too! They say to "take it easy" while the motor warms up, but that you shouldn't sit there and just let it idle to warm up because it take longer to warm up and just wastes fuel anyway. 1. I usually start by pulling on my choke knob hard just for the initial start. Then shut choke off right away and hold wide open throttle in neutral until coolant starts coming out just a little. This way I know my piston is warm enough so it won't seize when I ride wide open all the time.
  2. I have a question, when you start my two stroke, it bogs down and sounds like a two stroke and when I rev, it turns off. what is it doing?
  3. yo bro, love love love your content but can we get some more riding in your videos as well as your great commentary? keep up the solid work bro! :)
  4. I ride 4 stroke. I fire her up and start riding off slowly building up through the gears keeping the revs low and the load minimal. I get 300 hours without touching even so much as a sparkplug on the engine.
  5. I just keep it wide open on my stand for about 20 min!
  6. I always let my 2stroke warm to the touch on the case. I'm not sure how you can even get off idling in gear without stalling??? I've seen guys tip over taking off cold...
  7. I've always started mine and let it Idle with short revs here and there, I don't ride until the bottom of my Rad is warm to touch.
  8. I just hold it in the rev limiter for a minute
  9. All the same shit flows through your exhaust moving or not smh
  10. On my 125cc 2stroke roadbike it liked being on idle for about a min or two. Started right up "el" with full choke and no throthle. It idled a bit high for a little while before dropping down to normal idle. Choke off. When the rpm first drop the engine is warm enough for a leaner mixture and require load to reach optimal temprature. I used to give it a few blips before starting to progressivly giving it load. My pistons lasted long and happy even with much hard riding. It did NOT like being blipped, choke off and ridden right away "even slow". It felt like it wearer it even more. But this is a bit different from bike to bike, what mixture you have and setup.
  11. What will happen if you don't warmit up
  12. I run a forged piston I let my bike idle blip the throttle to keep it cleaned out. till the cylinder is at a point where I can't hold my hand on it. Then roll out ready to rip
  13. ktm is junk.....
  14. I just yous the choke and efter 10 years of that bike only problem was the tires on the bike
  15. I'd almost kill for a bike like this! Got a old 1985 XT350
  16. would this be alright to do with a forged piston? Ive been told you really have to be slow and thorough warming up an engine with a forged piston.
  17. How many hours foes ur ktm have rn
  18. #kids need jobs
  19. this is a problem kids can't get jobs and I want to start to ride dirt bike
  20. i like your garage
