It’s Official! The BLOODHOUND K’NEX Car is the World’s Largest K’NEX Structure!!! Enjoy this amazing time lapse video that shows exactly how our team created this build. We did it! We’ve been sharing news of our record attempt build to create a life-sized replica of the BLOODHOUND Supersonic Car and on Friday 29th August 2014 it became official. The finished creation has been confirmed by Guinness World Records to be the World’s Largest K’NEX Structure. After weeks of building by a team at the Royal British Legion Industries, and over 380,000 K’NEX parts, the BLOODHOUND K’NEX Car was unveiled at the historic Brooklands Motor and Aviation Museum in Surrey. The reaction to the model, which is over 13 metres long and almost four metres tall, was incredible with adults and children alike queuing to have their picture taken with it. As well as catching a glimpse of our record breaking build, visitors to the museum on the day were able to try their hand at building their own K’NEX cars with the help of experts from The BLOODHOUND Project. They might not have been record-breakers but there were certainly some very imaginative creations. The BLOODHOUND K’NEX Car will now support work of the BLOODHOUND Project’s education team who aim to inspire a new generation of scientists and engineers. Watch this space for news of where you can see it for yourself as well as some exciting time lapse footage showcasing the building of this amazing model.
