The Eagle-Owl is considered one of the largest owls on earth. Together with other owl giants like Blakiston's Fish Owl and the Great Grey Owl, the Eagle-Owl is a skillful hunter that uses its 4-6ft wingspan to swoop in for the kill without making a single sound. The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) rescues injured or sick owls and other birds of prey at the Beijing Raptor Rescue Center (BRRC) in China and releases healthy birds back to the wild. In the last 15 years, more than 4,200 have been rescued. For more information, go to www.ifaw.org
