2. The worst known eruption was the Siberian Traps, 250 million years ago causing the Permian Mass Extinction. An eruption bigger than Mt Tambora is Krakatoa in 1883, if you wanna compare the size and magnitude of the eruptions. The entire island basically blasted itself apart generating the biggest blast ever heard by man. It could be heard in he western Australia. 2/3 of the island collapsed back into the sea. All that remains is the island called Rakata.
   
   Sure, Tambora made a more huge impact on the global weather than Krakatoa causing famine and diseases. More people was killed because of the eruption itself when Krakatoa erupted while Tambora killed aprox 80.000 in the aftermath of the eruption. "The year without a summer" followed.
