Why Isn't Pluto a Planet Any More?

Dr. Robert Hurt explains why Pluto got... well... plutoed.

Comments

  1. its like he knew i was upset about pluto not being a planet!! lol
  2. it was a planet but misbehaved and was  therefore made to sit on the interplanetary naughty step.
  3. Hhahahahahahahaha funny but true XD
  4. holy crap... now it makes perfect sense!
Sometimes explanations done like this is just what we need...
  5. I'm pissed that he didn't even give us the definition of a planet!!!
  7. True. I guess my problem is that the IAU was just going by their theory. They don't know that every planet had objects in their paths. I used to be a moon, but now I am a dwarf planet. I guess I was just upset because I am a dwarf planet, and Pluto's best friend. Like him, I am a former planet. So, I guess I was just not me at that time.
  8. So all of the planets started out as rings similar to the astroid belt and kuiper belt. The largest objects in these belts began picking up the very small ones as they orbited around gaining mass. As it gains mass it picks up larger and larger objects. Eventually it picks up all of the objects forming the entire belt into one singular planet. The astroid belt and kuiper belt didn't have objects large enough to "clear the neighborhood".
  9. They put everything into consideration, but yes, explain it please.
  10. More up to date than your citeless ramblings. For the third time, what is this science that they decided not to consider when they reclassified the solar system? It's also important to keep in mind that these classification don't only help us understand our own solar system, but others that we are discovering. If you'd like me to explain clearing the neighborhood, I will do that for you.
  11. Neptune looks like Blue from Foster's Home
  12. hello
  13. And by the way, the thing was last updated in 2011. So, it isn't up to date.
  14. And, by the way, Earth ranks below Pluto, dumb butt.
  15. Dude, NASA isn't always right. I have paid attention, and say, a song on the solar system without Pluto, people start screaming ,"WHAT ABOUT PLUTO?" or "Where's Pluto?". Pluto might not be the most popular planet, but many, many people are angry at the IAU. And you can't even identify that you're talking to Pluto's best friend. The IAU are blind to the reality that their decision was not taken lightly. You to. You're too stupid and don't pay attention to reality. Sorry. Truth hurts sometimes.
  16. According to NASA Jupiter is the most popular planet, and Pluto ranks below the Sun and our Moon. just because you are part of a vocal minority that is man at a group of professionals for doing their job, doesn't mean your cause is the most popular. You have yet to tell me what science it is you think they are ignoring. 11 planets? Don't you mean 13? There are currently 5 official dwarf planets. There are also 4 more strong candidates.
  17. ok
  18. ok
  19. ok
  20. hello
