Get more at Dr. G's blog: http://doctorgvids.blogspot.com/ WebMD, "Epidermoid cysts can be made up of a protein called keratin and fat. They usually appear on the face, neck, or upper body, especially the chest and shoulders. They erupt for many reasons, most often because of acne or mild skin injuries. (When they are formed because of swelling around hair follicles, they are called pilar cysts.) Epidermoid cysts are usually small, from a few millimeters to about 5 centimeters across, and they grow slowly. They are more common in men than in women." While words can be comforting, videos of actual patients undergoing procedures performed by Dr. Gilmore are invaluable in helping patients understand how various office procedures are performed. They are also helpful for patients in their decision-making about whether they would want the same procedure and how much discomfort they should realistically expect, if any. Dr. Gilmore is thankful for the patients who have volunteered to share their procedure experience in a video and takes care to ensure that the patient’s identity is never compromised.
