World's Biggest Train Car! 36 Axles! Galva, IL 08/29/2010

(c) Copyright BNSF2184. It took a rediculouly long time for CEBX 800 to get from Mendota to here. A 15mph speed restriction didnt help either, just down right rediculous. Anyway there were two world records on this train: worlds biggest train car and worlds shittiest locomotive:p Two cabooses also added to the fun of this train along with a flat bed loaded w/ containers. Oh and a mechanical bell has survived as it dings when the train passes. Oh and thanks Seth aka trainmasterfm2 for takin me to see the fuckin big thing or big fuckin thing whatever I called it yesterday. J CPKEDR BNSF 7908 (ES44DC)

  1. It's called a schnabel car
  2. wonderful melancholic train horn! I love it!
  3. 18! not 35.
  4. This would have been child's play for a helicopter to move, if the helicopter was big enough.
  5. Funny how I stumbled across this video when I searched BNSF in Galva ... ever since they took down the searchlights/signal bridge here this spot looks so different. Plus there's a goddamn e-bell at this crossing now.
  6. How wonderful!!
  7. so, the slow speed is because of the huge car
  8. That car is probably as long as some model railroad trains.  Too bad you did not have the opportunity to get a shot of it farther away broadside to get a better idea of the full length.
  9. Wow! Nice catch!
  10. Amazing! Reminiscent of those trucks of many axles and cantilever design.
  11. Kasgro Railcar in Newcastle, PA. built an even bigger one than the the one in this video CEBX800 that was built in the 1980 by Krupp of Germany. Kasagro Railcar took over a year to build the WECX801 The 231-foot, 400-ton, 36-axle and has a load limit of more than 1,000 tons. it was built in 2012 i think.
  12. You can always beat the gate but you can't always beat the train.
  13. this locomotive isnt shitty
  14. Where is Galva? I live in Rockford, Illinois
  15. one engine pulling a heavy car wow
