The country's attorney general thinks the drugs belonged to the Pacific cartel. (Nov. 5) FOR CLEAN VERSION SEE STORY NUMBER: 542610 [Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] Mexican authorities are calling it the world's largest cocaine bust... On Monday, officials put their discovery on display-- all 26 *tons* of it. The cocaine...now in the hands of Mexico's navy...was seized by a group of federal police officers and marines last week. They say they came across a cargo container filled with more than 21 thousand packets of the drug during a routine inspection of a ship that originated in Colombia. Authorities aren't saying very much about what's next in the case... The attorney general has only revealed that the cocaine probably belonged to the Pacific cartel. The bust comes as Mexico tries to improve how it handles narcotics related crime. The U-S is considering a plan that would give Mexico a total of 1 point 4 billion dollars towards that effort.
